Jess, I just love the way you put it. It is exactly that. My family has had its share of tragedies and it is true that the moody blues somehow seem to embrace it all with their all-encompassing gesture of music.

They have history, present. past, culture, individuality, family, shared experience, passion, collected gentleness, pacience, the passing of time, sadness understanding, a sense of human complicity... My father is present in this voice. Moody Blues...Timeless company.

  • The bridge that begins withs, "Words that you say when we're alone..." brought chills 40 years ago-And still does.

  • God what a wonderful song this is! What the hell happened to music?

  • Excellent song!

  • A beautiful expression of love by an epic band

  • Sometimes the best songs are those that bring tears of joy or memory of people we loved and love...our whole life before our very eyes...This is one of them songs...I love the Moodies and thank them because they helped me get closer to my feelings at an age so fragile..when I was young...Thank you Moodies...

  • I bought this vinyl new when it was first released in 1972...still have it....this is a CLASSIC...

  • @JJRamirodafonseca, you're SO right, they are the very essence itself of "the legend of a band", as 1 of their Greatest Hit compilations is aptly titled. I especially love watching their live clips of any sort from the 60's on, seeing them twice in concert myself. No matter how tired from the road, they just keep building steam until they are coming at you like an unstoppable freight train, & the beauty of their music takes you & the whole crowd into another completely different world! THE Band!

  • As I have once written the moody blues are not a band. they are THE BAND. All others are small compared to these.

  • What a fabulous voice. And what other band on earth could pull off an accordian and the "la-la-la's" at the end of the song. Amazing. This band . . . no other comes close.

  • @midlifemikey Can't tell ya, but I will continue to live in "the land of make believe" for now.....
