Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine: Dreadnought Assault Gameplay HD

Nothing amazing, not an amazing match on my part, not showing off my elite gaming skillz, just a simple demonstration of the new Dreadnought Assault game mode DLC.

Shortly after the match starts a point to capture spawns. Whichever team gains control of this point spawns their teams dreadnought.

The player that controls the Dreadnought seems to be the payer that has spent the most time on the point whilst it is being captured and is still on the point when it is fully captured.

Once the Dreadnought has spawned, the team that has their Dreadnought needs to capture 20 points (they spawn one at a time) dotted around the map. The Dreadnought has a higher point-capture rate than infantry. It is the infantrys job to defend the Dreadnought whilst it is sitting on points.

The opposing team, that didn't win the intial Dreadnought control point, has to defend the points. Which basicly means, kill the Dreadnought. When a Dreadnought gets destroyed, another "Dreadnought control point" is spawned and once again the players have to battle to gain control of it before capturing more points.

The game mode works with Classic, Chaos Unleashed and Dreadnought Assault maps. So not just the two maps that come with it.

It's awesome.

What I remember from tabletop wh40k: autocannon has different model than assault cannon... Or something changed... Warp? It's over taking my mind... Tzentch apparently attacked the holly dreadnough... RUN FOR YOUR FIVES!!!!!!!!!

@EvilBluHeavy Your memory hasn't failed you. The loyalist Dreadnought dons the assault cannon, the stubby ting that shoots faster and hits for less. The Chaos Dreadnought has the autocannon, the huge, slow firing, hard hitter.

@IAMARAGHAST Thanks for explaining mate, 'preciate it. I haven't played the dreadnought DLC yet, i know the difference of both on tabletob and that was partly why i got confused. The main reason: autocannon icon in righ-down corner... Why THQ, why???

@XerrolAvengerII And i'm sure you will never buy it. However, for more open minded people, I've seen the dread last 30 seconds, I've seen the Dread (and controlled the bastard ^^) for a whopping 12 minutes, it's all about, not only the teamwork, but also your loadout. Lascannons can safely sit out of autocannon range, whilst blind grenades can completely stun it for Melta's and Thunder hammers to get in close and bring the pain.

What you can see in this video is bad teamwork.

The only thing that could make this better would be if the Dreadnought had a color scheme template so that when a player spawns as one, it matches the colors to their infantry armor so that you could be a Dreadnought of the Chapter or Warband you chose. It wouldn't be hard at all - if they took the color template from the DoW II dreads it would work just fine. As it is you can only play as an Ultramarines Dread or part of Nemeroth's warband from the campaign. I want my Imperial Fists dread ;_;
