I used camstudio to capture an emulator snes, which seems to be a lot less hassle. But when I was capturing some old console stuff id use tv card but had to use a VHS recorder which was connected to the console.

yea i tried it with zsnes and fraps but it was a little bit laggy and for some reason it doesn't record my sound even if i have the full version.
like i said i will try it without an usb cable and see what happens but im pretty sure it gets better.
