If you are a director type account, you can go over the 10 minute limit.

I tried it again and it shutdown, so lesson to all.
DO THIS AS FAST AS YOU CAN. SHORTING IT MAY CAUSE IT TO SHUTDOWN MID-INSTALLATION.
Bought a new one, btw.

no, the DS (fat) has a different display than the DSi and the DS Lite. So you cannot adjust the display brightness of the Fat DS
