this crossing is extremly dangerous depending how high or fast the water is flow and what veichle your driving... if the car is say a hilux and the river is up you WILL be pushed up against the ledge!!! do not take advice from any clown who has said its safe!

saw a big lizard of the salt water variety there mid crossing - made me flinch to say the least

I crossed that with a Hyundai Elandra (yes, 2wd), so no, it's not a dangerous crossing. But it's pretty impressive anyway :)

Good piece of video but its not a dangerous crossing, its done by at least 30 vehicles every day. But it is a good crossing for your first water attempt

How deep was the water?

The pillars are about 40 cm high. And at the deepest place you could just see the top side of the pillar. It's not so deep but it was a strong current and a slippery surface.
