Created by Osamu Tezuka Jungle Taitei aka:(Jungle Emperor), was created as manga 1950-54. It was animated in Japan around 64-65. it was aired on NBC in 65. This is a CLASSIC and if you ever seen the original story. Disney sure as hell ripped it off.

@idioticlisa It sort of is. In many of the other works they open the same. The bird Coco is the same. The animals also gather at the rock in some scenes and gather together like that scene in the anime tv and the manga.

Actually, this particular movie came out in '97. 3 years after Lion King. Here, they were just poking fun at Disney. (they used situations from the 1966 Kimba series in Lion King) So- Tezuka Productions just wanted to be funny with the intro o.o It's justified, but it is kinda misleading for the rest of the movie... ^^;

I am doing a Remake Called Leo the White but it is set in China and is a Musical like its American Nock off by Dsney. on youtube by Swan Picures I am reworking and blending the story and will post it on youtube soon.
