Steering clear of all of this in whatever way possible is the best way to go, better choices, period. Pick one product that you currently buy in plastic and get it in glass, or make it at home and you will have already made the world a better place. Pick clean companies with good intentions, sustainable agriculture, and steer clear of pesticides and plastics. The rest will take care of itself.
