This is a recording done by the Northumberland Brass during the 1999 Indian River Festival in Prince Edward Island. At the time, the ensemble was made up of 15 members, give or take a few, the core being members of the Charlottetown Festival orchestra, the remainder being members of various fine groups throughout the country, and abroad. Conducted by Gregory Irvine.

  • @TheAwesumfulOne gave you goosebumps?.,,try being in the band playing it. Especially when playing the Tuba. The song literally becomes your heartbeat. Nothing will ever emulate the feeling felt during that performance. EVER.

  • IIRC, the was Ric Flair's theme song before it was changed to "Also Sprach Zarathustra."

  • @Bozohotep

    Now it's 5 :-(

  • i LOVE this songg!!! haha, its like awesome and i really like how intense it is at certian parts! (p.s.- is this guy still alive??)

  • Has anyone ever performed this piece, and then Copland's Symphony No. 3, and compared the two versions? This was the original arrangement of the Fanfare, and is easier to digest than the Symphony arrangement. Also, the sound is much more concentrated and bombastic than in the Symphony. Of course, the Third Symphony is an incredibly challenging and fulfilling work in itself, and is also quite quite lovely to play and listen to. Well done

  • While this is good, I much prefer the Emerson, Lake, and Palmer version. Check that out!

  • @elatu totally cribbed this piece.

  • This piece is absolutely STUPENDOUS. (the french horn harmony rocks!!!

  • @Bozohotep

Um, excuse me. The title is "Fanfare for the Common Man"

How does that apply to the "3-1%ers" ???

If this was to be politicized, I would have thought someone would claim it to be a socialist anthem.
