I remember helping kidnap my friend and taking her to see this for her 18th birthday. We were all aware "who" it featured, and "what" it featured. What we were not aware of however was how it would make us see that the world defined, and STILL defines who can love who. It propelled our teenage hearts from the infatuation of "cute boys kissing is something to swoon over" to "denying any person the right and desire to love whomever they choose goes beyond being a travesty."

@LanceHertford I should say they have no interest in legally telling people who they can't have a relationship with. Rev. 22:11 plainly tells them not to interfere in personal sins, anyway. Not by force, at least. When I was growing up, I had many gay friends, I thought of what they were doing as sin, but no way in hell was I not going to be their friend or treat them like crap over it. If they wanted to ask me my opinion, I'd tell them. But between consenting adults, it's really their business.

@bananaPLEASE I think there are a lot of Christians out there who- though they may not want to legalize gay marriage- have no interest in telling people who they can or can't have a relationship with. It's not like they want to make sodomy illegal again. I mean that never made any sense. Especially me being a Libertarian, it never made any sense to me why that was ever any of the government's business. The government only exists to prevent one person from harming another.

I just can't help feeling sad when I hear this beautiful piece of music. So beautiful yet heart breaking at the same time.

I think it stems from the movie being a piece of art and Heaths death also being tied in. I ache to see this movie for the first time again - A first in so many ways.
