Post Aaron McCruder's "Boondocks" and Spike Lee's "Bamboozled", "Coonskin" (1975) is film ahead of its time. Directed by Ralph Bakshi, starring cast voices:Barry White,Charles Gordone, Scatman Crothers, Philip Michael Thomas Although this film proceeded Boondocks and Bamboozled the story is ironically relevant for today. I can only suggest everyone watch with an open mind with the desire to comprehend. The introduction song playing during the opening credits may even be a challenge for some. I actually enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy watching this film. Feedback is always welcome! Thanks to those who have already viewed the film and have added to their favorites.

I'm African- American and I know this film is not racist. I'm not saying that anybody on this site said that, but some people that I know says that a lot. Anyway, it's a great movie and satire.
Never heard of this film, but it blew me away... especially this first part... so powerful and intense, just look at the preacher man... there's despair, rage, anger and sadness all rolled in one... Thanks for uploading this, man!
This is one of a few films of this nature (pro-black/increasing blacks conscious)that have been out of circulation for awhile, thanks for posting it...I love it. This was for sure beyond its time.
