Me again,you probably don't remember me but.... My diesel conversion is finally on the road!!!! I had some problem getting the paper Work for it. Anyways I was wondering if you had problems with getting yours up to speed and if you did you fix it some how? Adding a turbo?Any help would be appreciated.

@Motorfordtoyota i got a turbo 2L 4x4 straight axel -speed sitting in my shops yard... im gonna offer to buy it from the guy.

Where did you get the oil pan for the 4X4 Diesel? I need one for my project. I cant find one anywhere.

@doug48858 they dont want to train us techs is what i keep hearing we loose alot of customers in cananda because the tundra has no diesel engine

Its a 1L Toyota diesel from a 2wd truck. The conversion is done with all Toyota parts. Nothing custom really except putting together a 4wd L52 transmission.

yes 81-83 in 2wd longbox only. 84 added 4wd, and 85 added turbo diesel, then in 86 it was over. No Toyota diesels in the USA since.

@doug48858 Its so sad, cause if Toyota put turbo diesel in the Tacoma and Tundra, they would have THE best trucks!! I have to have a 2l turbo truck!

@Motorfordtoyota actually what is sad: The do put diesels in Tacomas (Hilux) everywhere BUT here - South America, Australia, Europe all enjoy turbo diesel Toyota trucks with almost as much hp as a v8 and get about 33 mpg.
I doubt very much that it is Toyota that wont make a diesel truck for us; rather the govt wont allow it. EPA, DOT, etc etc.
