Try and get on a rotation somewhere (most likely over seas). 28on 28off rotations are available. Working in the US or Canada sucks the worst as they will work you to the bone. A job as coordinator is pretty much the worst job you could ever ask for, you are on 24hr call 7 days a week trying to coordinate multiple jobs and personnel as well as remote trouble shooting. My advice would be to get the experience while you can (foot in the door) but think about moving to drilling engineering asap.

I just graduated from LSU and was chosen at the Baker Hughes Experience to be an LWD engineer. They told us they want their college graduates to have 3 year field experience and then work an office job. Thank god I'm single.

That's cool, I'm trying to become an MWD operator myself. Can't effin wait.
Yes, get plenty of sleep before you rig up... And most of the roughnecks working on the rigs are felons
You normally work about 16 hours during the rig up and 12-13 shifts throughout the drilling process...20-25 days straight.
I no longer work for Halliburton...
Not much of a life... If your single and not married...Go for it, work a couple of years and then apply for a office position.
Bottom line...job pays well, but no Life.
