@MultiNiles u r thinking of the chocolate truffle. the real truffle is a type of fungus that grows underground, and tastes very perfumey,almost sickly. They are mainly found in southwestern europe, tho the chinese cultivate them. chinese truffles are less flavoursome than other truffles, thus being cheaper and can be found in most grocery stores. theother types of truffles are the perigord truffle(France), the Summer truffle (France, italy and england) and the white truffle(Italy.)

Terfezia was the main truffle consumed in the Middle East historically, and Ludovico di Varthema, in his Travels (1503-08), wrote of great quantities of them being sold, having been harvested in the mountains of Armenia and Turkey.

الفقع الخليجي حلو خصوصا اذا كان من النوع الابيض
المسمى زبيدي من الزبدة ولكن هناك ايضا فقع من دول اخرى مثل الفقع العراقي والاردني و السوري (المعلب) الذي يتميز بعمق جذوره كما وجد فقع تونسي و جزائري اكتشف اثناء رحلات القنص التي يقوم بها بعض الامراء ولكن الافظل على الاطلاق هو الفقع المغربي لما يتميز به من انواع كثيره و بطعم مختلف منه الابيض و الاسمر (الخلاص )وكله لذيذ جدا ولن تنساه اذا ذقته , يقال ان هناك فقع لبناني حلو ولكن لم أجربه. وسمعت ان المصري كان اكبر بالحجم ولكن رائحتة كريهة.
