another guy thinking out of the box, sit in kayaks are well suited for salt fishing! liked your video a lot!

nice job, i was surprised you landed that blue without wire

im thinking of buying a kayak. would you say that just being out deeper than you can cast from shore increases your catch, or is it all about finding a good spot just like it is from shore?

@charbcbc get on out there. the perception patriot is well suited for saltwater. i actually have one also. the yak i used in the videos is about 9 ft and much less of a yak and it handles the salt fine. j-bay is a great spot, big bass in the spring and lots of porgy, weakfish and most of the summer. have fun and be safe...

@drewtonium @drewtonium im most liskely going to get a sit considering i live out in merrick and i experience the same conditions that u do, and it seems the sit's work well for u, the one problem i have is that, how are the sit's if u flip over? is it easy or hard to re-enter? and show do u deal with a situation if u flip over?. sorry about all the questions, but it is much appreciated, thank u.

@drewtonium sounds good, thanksalot for the info its much appreciated. i think im going to get the 9 foot sit in kayak that i was considering. i was just going to attach a rod holder and keep a waterproof tackle box on the inside b/c this kayak i was looking at is nice, light, dry, and cost afficient but it doesnt have a dry well, if u could recomend a specific good, cost afficient sit in kayak what would it be?
is this the same sit in kayak that was in your other video "Staten Island Kayak fishing" ?, and i was thinking about buying a 9 foot sit in kayak, how do u like using a sit in kayak for fishing?

@NYSportFisherman i like SIK's for a few reasons. they are cheap, easy to rig for fishing, you stay dryer in the cold water season, and lighter. this is the same kayak in all 3 videos. a 9ft sit in. maybe one day a post a vid on the rigging of it. Two rod holders, cooler, tackle box, leashes, paddle holders, cleats and anchor placemen tand more. all for just a few bucks if done yourself.
