@HenryBrosowski The lyrics are in Karelian dialect, spoken in the Finnish side of South Karelia. Today, you can't find songs in Karelian from the eastern side of the border without a very strong Russian accent. The genuine Karelian accent has unfortunately almost vanished, also in Finland.

The musician on the right side is still in service with Värtinää, she got some poundsmore on her hips but also improved her performance.

Värttinä is one of Finland's great gifts to the world of music. The harmonies are fantastic, the musician-ship outstanding, and the lyrics haunting and poignant. Kiitos!
