One Day Older - Miyah. (2001-2011) My German Shepherd Dogs & Cats.

Sadly we lost our gorgeous Long Haired German Shepherd Dog Miyah this Wednesday 23rd November 2011.

She had a great life, and plenty of loving friends, but in the last week she had became increasingly unable to get up, and looked terribly unhappy.

Despite continuous treatment for arthritis, she was in too much discomfort and the time had come that I had been dreading for a few years, to say Goodbye.

She slept for the last time on Wednesday morning, while she lay in her favorite spot in the garden.

This is home footage of some of the best friends I have ever had. Some are still with us, but some are sadly now gone. None will ever be forgotten.

Her Brother Leo, the Black German Shepherd who you can see playing with her throughout much of this video, would be lost if it weren't for his new buddy 'Dude' who joined them both last year. Dude is a minature Doberman Cross / Jack Russell terrier. He's Crazy but we love him.

He is now now looking after Leo, but they will both miss her very much.

Leo, and Miyah were great friends, they both took away the some of the pain that was left when I lost 'Oliver' in 2001, my first 'Long Haired' German Shepherd, who can be seen playing in the snow on the film.

There's also a brief appearance from my two Cats who sadly, are also no longer with me. They were all such stars.

I wrote the song after being given the music by Kevin Drake, a musician I've been working with who is a former guitarist from the band "30 Seconds To Mars". It was such a gorgeous piece of music, and at the time Miyah was beginning to suffer more and more. I could think of nothing else and she was always on my mind, so these are the words that came out.

It's no official high budget video, but something I'll always have to remember her by.

At the moment it makes me sad, but parts of it make me smile.
It may not stay up for long, as I have mixed feelings when I watch it.

Give your pets a big hug right now if you can. That's all they want from you.
They give you so much back in return.

Hope everyone who sees this has a happy pet, whatever kind of amazing creature they may be.

I am so sorry for your loss! I cried when I watched your video. She was a beautiful girl. Our fur babies may leave us, but their mark on our heart remains forever!

@ditvkg Thank you. We cried an awful lot. A week has gone so quick. This time Last week I was sitting on the floor with her in bits, I couldn't get her to stand. The house is emptier but I've still got family and the other two, I'm very lucky really to have those, and to have had her for 10 years. She really was a best friend.

You are welcome. Animals lover have no boundary that why we are here for consoleing each others broken heart. I know time does heal the wounds however the scars still will be in pain no matter how yrs goes by cos our best buddy can never be replace by anything else. I lost my terrier girl few mths ago. I miss her so much.. wish could carry cuddle love take care bathe trim walk kiss smell her once again.

It's so sad they always end up as an unhappy ending, they have a great life but it's short lived. :( - Now I can see her anytime I want on the video I guess. I'll probably draw her and the others as I'm an illustrator. I've drawn plenty of portraits etc but never one of any of my pets. She deserves a nice picture on the wall.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss... I know how you feel. I lost my german last year 2010 She was 7, I had to put her down, she had a bloat where there stomach turns.. I have a new one, but I know how you feel. It hurts really bad. Just think your german is not in pain no more.. :)
