YouTube APIs: Where We Are and Where We're Going
Dave Parker
Drop in to hear from the YouTube Engineers as we discuss what you can do with our APIs. We'll highlight applications the community has created, talk about where we are going, and follow up with an open Q&A and discussion what you want to see in our next version. Whether you didn't even know that YouTube had APIs or if you already tried your hand at some YouTube mashups, we're looking forward to meeting you.

You can make all the transitions with flash, and as flash advances, there will probably be features like video on a OpenGL sphere, and such.. Realtime effects, but still transitions. If you kep the video content in its original format, you could render out a full-res version for commercial/private distribution..

YouTube video editing sounds like a potential for you to make money.. Imagine if people were able to pay 15 dollars a year to have access to an application that allows people to edit their youtube videos.. Remember, you don't have to deal with movie file formats, and you don't have to wonder about presentational accuracy, its completely WYSIWYG..

BTW, the mic record level needs to be boosted, or maybe just reprocess this audio, because its really very quiet

Audio, Picture and video recognition is a ton harder than just having people tag information on the video, like pick a time in the video, write a message and store.. Then let other people search for that data.. Anontation carries on over from writing in book margins, its how people leave themselves (and others) notes..
