Looks like your male like his girls with a big ass. THats great and all, but it can get crazy. Good thing you were reffing the ritual. The male was almost in trouble for a second, it looked. Glad he got the fuck out of dodge unharmed. When I breed my B.smithi, I want to world to see. Hopefully it goes down well, with plenty little 8-legged results to show for it.

So the male is on the left, and the bigger one is the female on the right. On the ends of the front two modified legs of the male there are two little tube like things that the male holds sperm in. When you see him reaching under the female he is trying to get to her opening to deposit the sperm. The female stores the sperm until she makes the egg sac. That is a lame explanation but it is pretty much what is going on.
