Getting towards the end now with the descent of Penyghent followed by the walk back to Horton. This descent is a classic down the steep southern face of Penyghent.
Dropped my missus and daughter off in Ilkley yesterday and headed up here for my lunch. The winds must have been at least 50mph with lashing rain, I was stuck to the side of the rakes like spiderman and at one point did a drunken dance toward oblivion as the wind blew me en route to the summit. Would I have rather been in a warm tea room in Ilkley?........Not on your life! Pen-y-ghent is where it was at! A bruiser of a hill! Love it.
Ah the legend himself, will do Mike straight away!
