جشن عمرکشان "Omar koshan" Iranian tradition

در زمان قدیم جشنی در ایران برپا بود به اسم جشن عمرکشان که در زمان کشته شدن عمر بدست ابو لولو در ایران برپا میشد
در این جشن عمرکشان ایرانیان شعر های مسخره کننده برای عمر میخواندند و مجسمه عمر میساختد و در مستراح قرار میدادند و شادی مینمودند

He was a Magian (Zoroastrian).
He was a skilled workman, a carpenter and artisan,
but I thik his most beautiful art, was killing the barbaric ruler and
son of Ahriman(Shaitan) "Omar ibn Kat'tab".

With beheading it is 1 hit and the head is off. There is little about it.

But with stoning

it is a group of people who throw rocks at the person who was sentenced to death, this in fact has some symbolism to it: The people condemn the crime comitted, they oppose such acts, they do this cruel thing so that others may think twice before comitting murder or adultary etc. They do it, so that this fysical punishment is enough, so the person isn't punished after death

You ask this, while all over the world people have received death punishments and even today in some countries they do. In America they hang them or they shock them with electricity untill they are dead and the smoke comes off their head. Is that not barbaric?

So, yes, in islam a death punishment is stoning or beheading.

It is painful and it is hard.

There is a big difference in the effect of a beheading and the effect of a stoning

In those days people in Arabia grew to 40 - maximum 50 years of age and then they died (of natural causes), many people dying between the age of 20 to 30 (war, disease, lack of water or food, natural causes,...)

People grew adolescent faster than they do today, most people who are 20 now are like kids, but in those days they would have been in the half of their life allready.

They were different times :)

But if there are only a few men, and many widows.. This is a problem... :)

So a man is allowed to marry multiple women, BUT ONLY if he is capable of taking care of them EQUALLY, and is able to make them all pleased with him :)

Why do some people marry many women in this time?.. (2011) Because they want to, sometimes there is need but most of the time they just want to, there's no real other reason (besides to help)

@mimimari26 Why in islam a man can marry 4 and a woman can not:

Throughout history, men have mostly fought the wars, sometimes leaving entire cities and villages and areas without men or with only a few men.

Imagine a woman in the middle ages, small children, her husband died in battle.... How will she get money? How will she sustain her family? Must she be alone? Must she sell herself?

So the man who gets 100 would (under normal circumstances!) need the money more :)

The woman in islam is normally taken care of financially, unless her family is very poor she should be able to use the money for her own wishes, while the man should spend it on his wife/children or to save it for his future family etc etc

@mimimari26 Why women take 50 and a man takes 100: Because the man has a family or will have one, he is the one who will have to go out and work every day for money. The woman might have a husband who takes care of her or she will have one in the future. In islam, a man must take good care of his wife and children and must try to please them, the man can use the money for this purpose and for the purpose of sustaining them, while the woman has a husband to do that :)
