Actually, she DID survive her experiences. She didn't opt out of living her life like so many others in her situation might have--whether it be by committing suicide, becoming strung out on drugs, or by cutting herself off from the outside world. Instead, she chose to try and make some sense of what happened to her and fight to overcome it. And what she does for a living shouldn't make her strength and resilience in the face of adversity any less meaningful.

it's the older woman (the aunt) i feel sorry for in this video - she's never enjoyed sex and will probably never have children. The lives of prostitutes vary from good to bad. However, I'd say the experiences of someone who has spent their whole life never enjoying life's most pleasurable experience is nearly always bad
