Details regarding how to make the tooling shown in this video and the compositions used for cored rockets can be found here: http://www.grassrootsdiy.com/?page_id=68

This video shows how black powder rockets are rammed by hand using handmade tooling. Only non-sparking metals may be used for rocket tooling, such as the aluminum and brass I show here. Black powder is the only composition that may be rammed by hand. Fuels using other oxidizers must be pressed via hydraulic jack remotely, as ramming would be dangerous.

For those of you beginning to get serious about building fireworks it will be of great benefit to acquire a user license from the ATF. Doing so will allow you to purchase and transport commercial fireworks, which is what handmade fireworks will classify as. There is an excellent set of dvd's available published by another pyrotechnic here on YouTube to walk you through the process. I can personally recommend them. More info about those dvd's can be seen here:

The tubes I use for this rocket are from PyroDirect: http://www.pyrodirect.com/ecom-prodshow/092-0016.html

  • How did you drilled the hole in the rammers precise?

    Lg

  • @PyroCube With a drill press. You can also drill through them accurately be taping a stack of washers to the end and drilling through the hole in the center.

  • Amazing vid please. Make more also I'm having trouble making a black powder bomb if you have any tips please share thanks

  • @mrMala12345 I do not and will not instruct how to make bombs or any other similar device. Do not discuss them again on my videos.

  • HEY GUY NICE VIDEO ...QUESTION : Can i use sugar and KNO3 for fuel ????

AND..because it looks like you know very well what are you doing PLEASE make a tutorial how to make fast black powder

  • @THEMrTNMUSIC Yes, you can use sugar and nitrate also. Sugar fuel burns slower than black powder, so it might be difficult to get liftoff, but with a little experimenting it can be done.

  • that was the fucking joke buddy it was a joke

  • @626airsoft

first off, nitroglycerin is an oil. you can't ram oil, it just doesnt work like that. second, upon hitting nitroglycerin with any amount of force, it explodes. in your face. extremely violently. third, if you manage to pack it into any solid form without it detonating from ramming, nitroglycerin explodes too violently to provide any form of thrust whatsoever, and will just turn your cardboard tube of a rocket into shreds. if you value your life and others', nitroglycerin is bad.

  • @mrMala12345 Wow, Why would you even need a bomb?

  • are you using granulated black powder?

  • u should try it with pure nitroglycerin

  • hands look like they are floating nice vid

  • sorry i didn't mean to cause a problem i won't ask again i would love to see more rocket vids thanks
