Reims-Gueux Circuit

The abandoned pit buildings at the old Reims road circuit. The last F1 race held here was in 1966 and the track closed for good in 1972.

I just put together some old shots I recently found that were shot on June 16th 2002. We were driving nearby and found this place by accident as we were diverted due to a new road being built.

As it turns out, it was likely that this was the time several other parts of the circuit were demolished.

Hope to return soon to shoot it properly in HD. Although, I understand some restoration work has taken place.

I hope this place doesn't go the way of so many other lost circuits. A very atmospheric place.

I was saddened when I saw this video a couple of years ago seeing how this historic place was left to rot but just recently I found out that they've completely restored almost everything to how it once looked and they're now holding historic racing cars meeting there which is awesome! Just look at how it looks now thanks to a small group.
