November 2010 Business Outlook Survey Press Conference

Press conference for the November 2010 Business Outlook Survey.

Results from the Business Outlook Survey suggest that regional manufacturing activity showed improvement in November. The survey's broadest measure of manufacturing conditions, the diffusion index of current activity, increased from a reading of 1.0 in October to 22.5 in November. In special questions this month, firms were asked to characterize their capacity utilization in their plants currently and at the same time last year, as well as their plans for spending on plant and equipment next year.
