Actually, Mel Gibson was born in America to American parents, and moved to Australia when he was a boy, so in fact he hasn't 'lost' his Australian accent when you hear him speak American accented English. He's just...linguistically facile.

Hi Im australian, The reason you can't hear it is because it isn't as strong, but when she says some words you can hear it. Like "and" and "not" and some other words.

@poppymontgomery666 bahaha, "when does she have an australian accent?" ..all the time. she is from australia. it's just not thick, so it's kind of hard to tell that she has one. every once in a while she annunciates just like the aussie's. lol.
-
@poppymontgomery666 She's lived in the US for a while so her accent has become mostly American
-
she sounds australian when she says "people at school"

The american accent is really easy to catch, im Australian and lived in the states for 3 years and i had this strange mix of aussie/american accents.
-
I think doing so many American TV shows, she's lost most of her accent...wish she would talk in her actual accent though -_-. No homo, but I'm obsessed with accents :)

Great interview, but it seems like she is intentionally trying to cover up her Australian accent with an American one. She slips up in some places, especially when she was talking about her home land but other than that she does a great job covering it up.

@poppymontgomery666 It's certain words that I can hear her accent, but I think over time, with the amount of time she spends overseas, she has lost her Australian accent for the most part. I'm originally from the UK, but don't live there and depending on where I am and who I'm speaking to, I lapse in and out of it without even realizing!
