One of the engines on a TAP Portugal Airbus A319 starting. No PTU sound, but you can see the aileron moving to neutral position when the hydraulic system is pressurised :)

  • The PTU is independent of the make of engines, as it's a feature of the Hydralic system, and not Propulsion... I think. ;)

  • The PTU is in the mainwheel well on the aft bulkhead. nothing to do with engines. you hear it normally during the first engine start as its routinely the #2 engine started first. if you dont hear it... then theyve either started #1 first or they have the ptu inhibited.

  • @fernando13e no the PTU is a product of the Hydraulics of the Aircraft its nothing to do with engines

  • @fernando13e

CFMs too. ;) Maybe the pilot hasn't put off the PTU before and then there isn't needed a PTU Startup.

  • love the a319 sound!!! very clear video!!! thumps up!

  • @fernando13e CFM Engines in the Airbus A319/320321 also have the PTU, but isn't always this is necessary.

  • Maybe because its a CFM powered A320, correct me if i am wrong, but only IAE powered A320s have the PTU sound.
