Castle - Serenity reference

Yet another Firefly/Serenity reference in Castle! I wonder if Nathan Fillion asks for these to be put in or if the writers are fans of it.

I loved this little joke, but the more blatant reference fro the previous season was classier, when Castle dressed up as Mal, and when asked what he was he replied "Space Cowboy." Is then told there are no cows in space, and replies again "Sure there could be!" An obvious nod to episode 5 of Firefly.

The best one was where he speaks chinese and Kate asks if he spent a semester abroad. He replies "No, TV show I used to love"

@OgreSamanosuke There's also a part of that scene where Alexis tells him that he's getting too old for the costume, to which Castle replies "But I like it!" or something along those lines.

@OgreSamanosuke In an interview or panel (I forget which) that you can watch here on youtube Nathan Fillion says he wanted to break the fourth wall after asked "you've never heard of serenity?" and end the scene there, but the director wouldn't let him.

@OgreSamanosuke Then his daughter says "didn't you wear that like ... five years ago?" The episode was released in '09, the Serenity movie was released in '05.
