Great film beautifully directed and acted. Fantastic casting. Wonderful, poignant soundtrack. Put it all together and your heart breaks.

My favorite film ever.

I have it on tape, and have always loved it, but I think it is tragic when he dies at the end trying to reach a woman he thinks is lara

I think what makes it so good is the ending - it certainly isnt a happy ending but it is a powerful ending, and thats why people remember it.

Also the director said the woman was Lara - or at very least Julie Christie filmed it

Lara`s beauty blows away every guy in the movie, except Yevgraf (Obi Wan). Though he admits falling for her at the end there. Tragic how he says Lara probably died in a work camp

Sure they do, they`re just not in movies or music no more. People steal sh%$ nowadays, piracy has completely destroyed the industry. Smart / creative people go to where the money is, it ain`t in music and movies no more.
