http://www.tenniscruz.com - Roger Federer Forehand in Slow Motion, defies all rules of bio-mechanics and yet still be it a topspin forehand, flat forehand or a slice forehand it is one of the best forehands in the game!

  • Defies all rules of bio-mechanics? On the contrary, it shows mastery of bio-mechanics! : )

Right at 0:08 you'll notice the hitting arm being dragged by the trunk. Then at 0:10 or 0:11 his trunk stops completely in order to transfer all that energy to the hitting arm. His arm is so loose that the energy flows very well through to the racket.

Combine that with excellent timing, balance, and finesse it's easy to see why his forehand is the best we've seen.

  • The racket head accelerates with all that wrist motion coming forward (:30-:31). It's really almost a slap shot, which is incredibly hard to do well with such consistency, but it adds a lot of pop to the shot.

Amazing he can do it so well, so often, so consistently.
