Every week 32 million of us shop in British supermarkets. But as supermarkets continue to push for lower prices and higher profits -- who is paying the cost?

  • @garyscottadamson i read in a lot of economic and business books that they encourage employment in poor countries, to get quick profits. and the government of them are mostly bribed because their independent have not fully developed much like south afirca, india and so. who could blame them, they werent even a century in building a system and they are still developing. remember how US was at that age? and yet those companies are provoking their governments, way to take greed

  • Supermarket Wars- Its TOTAL NONSENCE!!!!!

  • Without tesco employing people in the sweatshops, in the third world; it's likely that they'd have no other job. Tesco offer jobs with low wages, nobody has to take these jobs. It's likely that tesco would be unable to complete without employing 3rd world workers at such a low rate.

It is sad, but the blame lies with the governement in the 3rd world country. If they had proper laws which encouraged investment from the west then the impverished workers would have a basis to demand a higer wage.

  • I love the intentions, but the last time Americans interfered with factories oversees, tens of thousands of people went jobless, hungry and unemployment in those countries went up. I'm talking about the Nike Sweatshops.

  • Whey hey! You go, guys.
