@VeritasPopu 1) Assuming you live in the US it's not a direct democracy, it's a Representative Democracy - as are most Western countries, it's not mob rule. 2) You aren't forced to live where you do. You live there by your own choice & are free to leave at anytime. 3) Your opinion is not a source of the law, in the US the constitution is the supreme law of the land. 4) Perhaps you should consider a move to Somalia, it has no effective government.

@VeritasPopu And I dont. Living in a society is entirely voluntary. The rules that you need to follow are only demanded from you as long as you choose to take part of this society. If you dont accept democracy, then leave the nation or opt out. You belong to an extreme minority (people who dont accept democracy) and as unfair as you might think democracy is (even if you choose to live in it voluntarily) its still better then what you want.

@gulbirk Democracy, by definition, is mob rule. 51% is allowed to control the other 49% by force. No person has that right. Not even if 51% says it´s okay.
I do not consent to be governed. Period. If you feel you need governing, by all means, go ahead, but do not impose your dogma on those of us who do not want or need it.

@BladeEdge86 I dont think you know what I mean by left winged. Social democrasy, banks are not public.
-
@gulbirk Police, courts and the military that is pretty much it at least on the federal level as for the rest of them such as schools and hospitals I think should be handled by state and local governments. As for a rich person wanting to pay more, exactly what is stopping them? They are free to write a check to the feds at any time. Most of the rich saying they want to pay more are liars, they want us to pay more and themselves to be exempt through endless tax loopholes.
-
@BladeEdge86 Ok, but within the institutions that you want to keep public you include what? Hospitals, schools, police?
Ok, but what if a rich person wants to pay more?
-
@gulbirk I am okay with taxes so long as they are apportioned in other words everyone pays the same percentage and that the money being spent is spent on one of the 16 enumerated powers the constitution authorizing the government to perform such as police, courts, military ect... And any additional functions of government that are not part of the enumerated powers such as welfare and public works projects are as required by the 10th amendment go to either the states or the people themselves.
My only problem with a stateless system where you dont pay taxes is that its unfair. If I get a phyisical problem and cant work anymore im screwed. If I ever get children I cant send them to school because I dont have the money to do so. Ergo: The rich stay rich and the poor stay poor.

@gulbirk The piece of paper I was referring to if you are wondering is the 16th amendment which removes the requirement of taxes being apportioned allowing for among other things an income tax. And as a former collectivist I understand your concern for the poor but I assure you that our current system will destroy the poor and the middle class by drowning us in a sea of debt and wiping out the value of our dollar and give it to the same ultra rich elite that created this corrupt system.

@BladeEdge86 I agree, but I dont think its a good solution to go away from left winged. Also, I dont consider Democrats as anything close to left winged, in my opinion its still right winged, or somewhere in the middle. "our" does not exist. I dont like america, never have. Our (referring to where I live) works good. Everyone can attend school, and we have a good social security network, which would not exist without taxes.

@gulbirk Left and right wing are completely meaningless as both are controlled by the bankers and are placed as part of a false paradigm to have the people fight against each other instead of the criminals who are using the system to rob them blind while pretending they are doing them a favor. They created the centralized programs not to help people but to get them dependent so when they cut if off the public will have no choice but to do what they say.
