While other artists of his generation were writing dreamy ballads about California sunshine, Warren Zevon was more interested in life's darker side. His ominous outlook and keen eye for the absurd won him admiration from fellow musicians and an ever-growing legion of fans.
Zevon completed his final recordings knowing they would be his last. After courting death in both his songs and his notoriously wild lifestyle, he faced it head-on in his final days. And he always sang about life the way he saw it: bleak, violent, tender and funny. This string tribute honors Warren Zevon's unique and influential talent. He will be sorely missed.
