@sambi1968 I am glad people post these videos, they help others cope with having a loved one in the same position. I am in the same position, only it is my grandfather, who I am (was) very close with. He is totally gone now, still alive but his mind is totally lost.

I just wanted wanted to extend my condolences to you, and everyone who knows the pain this brings. My mother is alive, well, and a wonderful woman. However, until they passed away, my parents had me stay with my grandparents because they were working insane hours with my mom a police officer and my dad working machines at a cancer research institute. But my grandmother suffered and looked to my mum saying "whose little girl are you?". It broke my heart to see it. I wanted to say thank you.

Hey,it´s not really your own guilt when that was your opinion. The most people do not know anything about illnesses by the others, till the moment when their own asses are in danger. I don´t know why. Perhaps it´s the lack of interest, ignorance, maybe the belief in a fallacious invincibility? I guess some people make fun about illnesses, because they are not smart enough. That´s all! By the way: my granny has Alzheimer's in an advanced stage, but we try to be happy, as good as possible.

I am so sorry. My mom died last March 4th from Alzheimer's. It is so hard to watch. But my mom loved her music, too, right until the end.

She has a beautiful daughter in you....
May we all be as well cared for and loved as she is...

I am soo sorry about this.... need any help getting through it comment on my pro. or pm :(
Thank you for posting. My mum has it too and my heart is so broken. She is my world. I have a brother who doesn't help with her, it's my dad and I who take care of her. I often thought that I'd like to buy a video camera and tape her but it hurts so much. I wish I had bought one before she got ill so I could remember her like that. I don't want to remember her so helpless and fragile. I've been online looking for help and your video was good. Thanks

Thanks Sambi1968 for posting such a moving video. I am a psychology student who is looking into alzheimer's disease for exam but until I saw this video and others like it I hadn't fully appreciated the extend to which Alzheimer can impact and devastate peoples lives, both the sufferers and their family. Thanks for sharing something obviously painful. It's educational value is immeasurable.

@enchanted1977 - You're welcome...I know some people don't like to see this but I wanted others to see exactly what Alzheimer's is all about..my mum is still alive and I'm going to take some more video's to show how she is a year down the line..thanks for your comments though, and I'm glad they've helped.

You and your mom are such a nice people, i dont know if it will offend u, but what is the purpuse of posting the video? i think u should keep it to yourself and not showing how ur mon is getting weaker and weaker.
Sorry for my english

Hiya ... No offense taken and yes I know what you mean about keeping it private but I posted the video to show others what Alzheimer's is all about. When my mum was diagnosed, we were not told what to expect so therefore didn't realise what we as a family were to face. Until it was too late for us, did we know the full extent of the disease....this video and my other vidoes are to show others just some things what they can expect if they or a family member is diagnosed. Thanks
