    When he went to work for the Bonneville Power Administration in 1941 (I think it was), and was hired to write all those songs about the Columbia River, my Mother was the head secretary at BPA and was the one who fingerprinted him.

    Thanks for this. I haven't heard this recording in many many years.

    I remember that the Wody guthr Library of Congress recordings have a lot of songs and a lot of conversation between Alan and Woody which is very entertaining. Shame that these great american folk recordings are so little-known today.

    You are more than welcome! I'm only 28 so Woody is reaching the younger generation. One of my all-time favorites, such an amazing storyteller.The LoC recordings are great, love the convos between him and Lomax.
