  • Wasn't some of the members in Paladin?

  • I don't know about the show on October 84 but who the fuck would prefer Slayer to Witchkiller, all Witchkiller material including the last demo kick Slayer's ass big time, and yes it is true that the line up changed and Doug Adams is my favourite heavy metal vocalist but its hard to tell whether the Witchkiller EP is really better than this demo with Fear the Dawn and Rage of Angels.. top quality music that can never be matched ... the only decent Slayer album is the first one, the rest is noise

  • I recall SLAYER having WITCHKILLER opening for them in October '84 in Montreal..that's the only date they did with SLAYER... the crowd wanted SLAYER badly...WITCHKILLER had changed their sound completely at that point, had new members and had NOTHING in common with the classic EP line up..I used to have a live tape of that show..boring at best.

  • @CultOfMetal They cut them off? Damn Slayer!

  • @CultOfMetal Thanks for the informations, now the story's complete.Too bad they didn't have the opportunity to record an album with Domenic back in the days.It surely would have been a pure heavy metal classic !Anyways tell your uncle next time you see him that he had a great voice that fitted perfectly the epic and majestic side of Witchkiller music !!

  • @psycho7491. No one really did anything after the band called it a day, except Steve, who went on to form 'I Napoleon', a moderately known, ultra radio friendly pop rock band. He's the only one who 'made it'.. I guess selling out has it's rewards... Wondering how I know all of this, my man? Dom Sciascia is my mom's brother, making him my heavy metal uncle! Him & my old man tell this story pretty much every family gathering, how he 'could have' made it if the band stuck to its guns. Now you know!

  • @psycho7491. After that show, they sparked the interest of Paul Levesque, a noted Canadian 80's Rock producer. He brought them into studio to record the 'Who Are We?' EP, which sounds like a great start, except Mr. Levesque wasn't in it for the Metal. He commercialized their sound & made it so radio friendly & accessible (as you can hear on the weak ep), that every member quit, except Steve Batky, the so-called brains behind the band. WK called it quits after that, & everyone went on their way.

  • @psycho7491. Witchkiller put on such a great performance, having used homemade props (like throwing around flaming pumpkins, & spitting fire over crowdspeoples heads) coupled with their Mad Max style outfits. They played for well over an hour, & did like four encores. When they got off & Slayer came on, the crowd booed, & shouted for WK to come back on! Crazy story, isn't it! Makes sense now why Slayer didn't want them around, they stole the spotlight! Keep in mind in 84, Slayer wasn't huge yet.

  • @psycho7491, You're telling me man! Sometime in 84, Doug Adams quit the band to pursue a new direction, & Witchkiller moved from Ottawa (Canada), to Montreal, Quebec (also Canada), & they found a new singer, Dom Sciascia. They recorded this song & two others on their 'Lizzy Borden' demo that same year, & opened up for Slayer on their Quebec tour date. They were cut from the remaining Canadian tour personally by Slayer, believe it or not!

  • @CultOfMetal Is he the singer on the 1984 and 1985 demo ? I noticed that it 's not the same voice on the "day of the Saxons" Ep but even on Metal archives , I can't find no informations about this change of singer.Amazing voice !!!
