  • I'm 17 years old and a junior in high school.

Pretty much everything he just said explains the current school system I'm in.

  • competetive society is failing look at all the freaking drug addicts everywhere. the future is cooperative society or we will not be here much longer than 100 years. that did great in the early 20th century but is failing in the 21st century. screwing people over to survive in competition leads only to disaster in the end for all. a dog eat dog world ends up with no dogs.

  • I wonder how good you are at passing them ....

  • Yes, you have it precisely. I've been listening to this infuriating toxic leftist mumbo jumbo for decades now. It needs nailing for the buzzword-filled nonsense that it really is. The elite simply move their kids to pay schools that DO recognize the hard reaities, and the rest are left to rot under the experimenatl tutelage of these so-called educators.

  • That's the best response to this video yet. Western society is so obsessed with the self-esteem movement that it does not even produce real work ready, or even college ready, people anymore. This guy has a degree in drama and for some reason that qualifies him to bastardise education in general. Thanks to so-called "innovation" clowns like him their has'nt been significant funding in education for practical engineering or science based work in Britain for about 20 years.

  • Okay, you make a good point. However you actually stated the difference from your own experience. This man is only observing this from an outsider's point of view so to say that children are more stimulated without specifying how is a bad argument to put against how children are learning. There are some smart kids out there, regardless of being overly stimulated. It is important to pinpoint sources of problems, not just indiscriminantly label things. I always felt that Robinson was a labeller.

  • Not to mention our inefficient factory-based school system promotes bullying (idiots and assholes get lumped in with nerds just for having the same age, for example).

  • I hate all the test the state has us take

  • Stimluating - This man is talking about how our cell phones vibrate every 5 minutes, our televisions have over 300 channels, electronic billboards now dominate urban landscapes, etc. etc. It's not overly intellectually stimulating, but an overly physiologically stimulating, i.e. all of these distractions raise the level of anxiety in our bodies, with negative outcomes for society.

  • What a brilliant video!

  • I just have one, ONE fucking word to say:

    FINALLY!

  • from watching this video I am convinced that future generations really need a change in the way they are taught in school; its time to for a new way of learning which will benefit our kids to be well adapted and well suited for handling problems in their lives.
