Dr. Macari discusses how the Sacramento region is a hub for clean technology and green innovations. He emphasizes how the educational curriculum at Sac State is working closely with elected officials such as Congresswoman Doris Matsui, Governor Schwarzenegger, and California Senate President pro Tempore-elect Darrell Steinberg to enact legislative measures to improve the region's role as a clean tech epicenter.
The CSUS College of Engineering and Computer science is currently offering new courses designed around solar energy, wind energy. They are also partnering with the California Energy Commission and SmartGrid as well to help educate and empower consumers about their options in utilizing green technologies and renewable energy sources in their daily lives.
Dr. Macari stressed some of the simple things that consumers can do to reduce their energy usage and carbon footprint and tap into the green revolution.
