Episode 2 of my new web series, The Subject. A thrilling drama about a boy who is imprisoned in a house where his only form of company is a clone of himself. He is a test subject in a massive research project on human behaviour being run by someone, known only as the Author. The clone, is The Author's man on the ground who supervises the Subject's behaviour. He is known as the Secretary. In 13 episodes, you will see The Subject put through rigourous testing and mind games. Will he ever escape from The House?

INSPIRED BY THE PRISONER STARRING PATRICK McGOOHAN

  • I am very curious as to what this 'enrichment' is going to be, seeing how the author likes his secrets.

  • @LindsL84 The Author's enrichment exercises are simply ways to make The Subject more easy to work with so that they can do tests on him. These enrichment techniques are things like books and television programmes (as seen in this episode) with subliminal messages in.

  • I really enjoyed this. Very clever to use such a simplistic idea and build such an intelligent production from it. How did you shoot the clone sequences. Looks very impressive.

Was also wondering if you could help me with any narratives. After my Enigma Defence series i want to write and shoot a brand new original series. Have u any ideas i could use for it?

    Thanks Gez

  • Thanks for the comments mate. The clone sequences involve having to shoot to seperate versions of me and then overlapping the two of them in Adobe Premiere (you can proabably see the split down the centre of the screen).

If I have any ideas for your series after Enigma Defence I'll be in contact with you via person message.

    Thanks again

    Jack

  • Loving this series, Mate! Just perfect! You could do with an external mic to help your audio a little, but generally the camera work and production are very good and the concept uses the low budget to great effect. I'll be promoting this where I can, too! It deserves a big audience! Keep 'em coming!

    Ade.

  • Thanks for the comments Ade. I see what you mean about the audio. For now I'll just put subtitles where you can hear the dialogue (a big problem particularly in part 2) but I did try to clean it up a little during editing but that didn't work too well. I was planning to look into that anyway so great minds think alike!
