The Copemaster is a duplicating machine which works like a key copier to cope moulding quickly and accurately. First, a template is made on the machine. This is done by moving the saw carriage in an x and y direction following the mould which is clamped into the vise. The template is now placed in front of the stylus and clamped. As the stylus follows the template the saw blade cuts the cope on the work piece. The copes are easy to duplicate allowing an apprentice to take over, freeing up the master carpenter for other work.
