The definitive guide to Drama Schools: What Do They Want? brought to you by Masterclass at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, in association with the National Council for Drama Training, The Stage and TV Today and Theatre247. This film follows a Masterclass with Geoffrey Colman, Head of Acting at Central School of Speech and Drama, as he puts three young drama school hopefuls through their paces in preparation for their auditions. With impartial advice from the National Council for Drama Training, and ITV Casting Director, representatives from leading drama schools and actor Ray Fearon, the myths which surround applying to train as an actor and the career opportunities beyond are dispelled.

Informative and delightfully honest, this is a must-see for any aspiring actor.

  • @HowardWolowitzFan ps. Not to mention Daniel Day Lewis, Judy Dench, Sir Lawrence Olivier, Olivia Coleman, Emily Watson, Anne Hathaway, Forrest Whittaker...the list is literally endless. All brilliant screen actors, all trained at drama and theatre schools.

I think you would be very surprised at how many very successful screen artists began as students at drama schools.

  • Drama school usually leads to a life of theatre and stage performance. If you like performing in plays, go for it.

If you want to be a movie star, forget it. You will most likely end up doing panto in Bloomsbury Theatre,
