One day, after University and hopefully finding a good-paying job, I hope to establish my own little bunny rescue sort of thing.

yes, you're right! have you checked out bunspace [dot] com? It's such a great site. Right now they are also working hard on getting bunday [dot] org up. You can check out their threads in the Forums for "Bunday related". Some good veggie and vegan recipes on there :)
What is "Bunday"?
Bunday=Make it a habit, eat like a rabbit!!
At least one day of the week :)

I totally agree with you. Most livestock animals have miserable lives and horrific deaths. Lots of advocacy for dogs/cats but precious little for livestock. Watch the documentary " A Cow at my Table". It's enough to make you think about becoming vegetarian. If you do eat meat (I do) consume less, buy organic and free RANGE (not free run) . Organically raised animals are generally treated better while alive and are killed more humanely.

This world really needs an update on bunny rabbits:
Bunnies are NO "Livestock", NOT "Meat", NOT "Fur" !!!
They do NOT belong into needless animal testing !!!
Bunnies are very wonderful animals. They make great pets, and are very affectionate.
It is just too sad for words, what is going on in this world, not only how we treat rabbits, but also how we treat other animals.
Unfortenately, there is a lot of people, who still believe that animals have no rights...:(
WAKE UP-PEOPLE!

Good job Rabbit Rescue! You are right Coco0457! What people do to rabbits is very sad. Rabbits are not "livestock", rabbits are companion animals. They are not for testing, meat, or fur. I love animals, especially rabbits, and I am a vegetarian. It's a great lifestyle. Anyone interested in rabbits should check out the website for House Rabbit Society...lots of great information!
