@sneskid I always found it hilarious that Bill Murray essentially stood in for Lorenzo Music for a movie made from a cartoon show... if you'll remember that Lorenzo played Peter Venkman in "The Real Ghostbusters" cartoon show based on the movie Ghostbusters (of course) in which Peter Venkman was played by Bill Murray!

Just because someone is related doesn't mean they're going to be as good, or sound as good. Personally, I think Bill Murray was pretty good as Garfield in the films. Frank Welker is up and down in the show, he's hit and miss. Lorenzo will always be the best though.

amazing casting job on that voice actor though, this in my mind is the true voice of garfield.

That would be Lorenzo Music, who sadly passed away a few years ago. He WAS the true voice of Garfield! That's why Jim Davis casted him :)

yeah i did wiki before i posted that, this is the last and best thing jim davis has done. Superb animation, voice actors, the writing is so funny. Forget the movies and that cartoon network gig. Video games are ok as long as it's not in 3d/cg.

I actually made it a point to not watch the movies, simply because they were made after Lorenzo Music's death.
Now, I have nothing against Bill Murray. It's just that Lorenzo in a big way, gave Garfield his personality IMO, and hearing him voiced by someone else would just be too weird for me.

does anybody remember the episode that was about a new shopping mall? that's all i can remember but it was the only one i could have any real memory of as a kid

"Mini Mall Matters", perhaps?
"What is a mini mall", you ask? A mini mall is a whole bunch of stores you'd never go to, except that they're all together so it's convenient.
