Total Annihilation: Kingdoms Intro

Total Annihilation: Kingdoms or TA:K is a medieval fantasy real time strategy game created and released by Cavedog Entertainment on June 25, 1999. On release, Total Annihilation: Kingdoms reached the top of the weekly game sales chart. While it was the last major title from Cavedog Entertainment, an expansion pack, "The Iron Plague", was released in 2000. The story involves four sibling monarchs in their struggle to dominate the land of Darien: Elsin of Aramon, Kirenna of Veruna, Thirsha of Zhon and Lokken of Taros, following the disappearance of their father, Garacaius. This game was Cavedog's Swan Song, sad too because it had so much flavour to it.

it's amazing how much detail they put into this game, really. everything from story to the environments.

The universe of the game was very carefully thought out and could have spawned entire fantasy books. And the maps brimmed with life and creativity.

The amount of content is also quite impressive. Together with the Iron Plague expansion the game had 5 different factions, two exciting campaigns and over200 skirmish maps. You rarely see that nowadays.

It's a sadly forgotten masterpiece this game

Remember when my dad came into the hosue with this. We were buzzing. "New Total Annihilation!!! :D"

Great game. Dad still prefered the Core and Arm battles to this, but we still loved it. Used to laugh at what the mage archers say, hehe. "Pah face-a-vachah!" *PEW!*

Remember it for the music though. Jeremy Soule the master.
