Stuart Stokes says it as it is

After his run in the European Cup Steeplechase in Portugal, Stuart Stokes speaks out on behalf of those athletes who demonstrated themselves during 2008 to be the best British Athletes in their event, yet were not selected for the Bei Jing Olympics for political reasons.

UK Sport set a key performance indicator which required a percentage increase in the British team finalists.

This was achieved by dumping those athletes who it was deemed had no chance of getting a medal, and were unlikely to reach the final.

Years of dedication and hard work and ambition cast aside by idiot policy makers at UK Sport.

If every country took this attitude it would be the death of sport.

Agree with you to a strong extent and think it's great that Stokes has sent out such a strong message in one of the few chances the Brit athletes get to address the public. The loss of him and Adam from concentrating on athletics is huge.
