Song: The Dire and Ever Circling Wolves
Artist: Earth
Album: Hex (Or Printing in the Infernal Method)

(c) 2005 Earth/Southern Lord

Earth, from Seattle, and more specifically Dylan Carlson is responsible for the offshoot of doom metal called Drone Doom. Earth lay down minimalistic music coupled with guitar feedback, eBow excursions and noise to create a musical atmosphere that creates such dynamic aural experiences capable of pulsing your very core. This song comes from the latest incarnation of Earth, which brings out a country/western influence into the mix creating a sparse musical landscape that almost brings the listener into the harsh climate of the desert. Hex is another great album to start with if you're looking into Earth.

    I like

  • @sixthseparatist i havent listened to any of their albums in depth yet, just random songs. i wish i had cash so i could buy the cd and listen under the stars, out in thee trees.

    but i'm poor.

  • Put this song on, leaned back and closed my eyes.

I was riding an eagle, flying over deserts, oceans, forests.... Felt like it lasted forever...

    Amazing feeling

  • @SeagullTheFreegull There a hard band to put a label on, and yes, theres more of a country tone to this album than there others. I personally like The Bees Made Honey in the Lions Skull the most, you can definitely call that album drone metal, or drone rock. I honestly haven't givin this album alot of time yet.

  • @sixthseparatist i'd personally disagree with him. this is definitely drone. metal, we could split hairs but drone no way

  • @itsmedude1020 Yeah, I kinda wasn't thinking when I said that.

  • @sixthseparatist Eh, not really. Their first album or two woult be drone, but this wouldn't really be considered drone or metal IMO.

  • This has a pink floyd/jesus mary chain feel. Yes, no shit.
