@xdustinpattonx Maybe someone is a happy person that he is alive. Maybe you don't know him. I know it kind of messed with me too, but laughing and trying not to be sad will keep the interview going. You can tell he wants to cry, but as a man you forget how to cry with emotion, you just let tears slide down your cheek and try to play it off. Laughing or happiness can be something used to hide and shield your emotions, if you didn't know that I am sorry. I doubt he is trying to laugh at the deaths

@xdustinpattonx i think you really misread that as a "smirk". it is a thoroughly pained expression. he is "smiling" to keep his emotions in check. it's heart wrenching.

They say OP Restrepo was a 15 man post, yet I've talked to about 200 or so service members that said they were there. So I'm guessing Restrepo is now a FOB with a Pizza Hut and Nail Salon.

I like the documentary and I respect the opinions but I think that you are soldiers and you only lost one friend. What would a veteran of the second war world think of your fear or sadness? I I mean, for exemple in all operation you lost 12 soldiers, germany lost 1 army in Stalingrado. Or how many people died in Normandy?.That was fear and more terrible.

@xdustinpattonx i think it is just because he is so uncomfortable and he does not know how to deal with the thoughts and emotions yet. keep in mind, they filmed the interviews almost right when they got back to their base in italy so they are just beginning to process all that happened to them.

@MrBassmental i miss juan too. so many good memories with that kid. not a day goes by when i don't think about him or his family. his daughter will never have the honor of meeting her father who was an amazing human being. my prayers go to him and his family, last time i saw his mother and brother was when the movie premiered here in miami. i am sorry to all of those who have lost loved ones in this war, but remember they will never be forgotten and i pray for every last soldier.

In 1977 Carl Sagan, the American astronomer and physicist, sent the Rhodope singer Valya Balkanska's performance of the song "Delyu Haitutin" as a message to space. Each of the two space stations - "Voyager I" and "Voyager II", had a gold-plated gramophone record, containing the voices, whispers, songs an music pieces of our planet.

i know this is irrelevant but the guy that talks at 2:31 gets on my nerves !! its like he cant stop smirking/smiling !! i mean it happens throughout the entire movie, he'll sit and talk about how bad something is and the entire time he's talking about it he has that same damn smirk on his face almost like he wants to giggle or something !! i know hes not laughing at the situation, thats not what im insinuating but its like he cant be serious or something !!
