Sugar the mouse decides she's getting a little "thick" in the middle. Unfortunately, she doesnt realize just HOW thick until she goes for the wheel...

And yes, she is indeed a mouse, not a rat.

If you work with them, they are very tame.

Sugar would just sit on my hand. They're pretty active and you have to be careful, but I've never come across a domestic mouse that bit.

This is so obviously a mouse, and a very beautiful mouse I have to say :)

One comment though: that cage is much to small for mice (although I once saw one of these being advertised as suitable for guinea pigs :|) Anyway, to small for mice. Also it is a bad idea to keep mice alone. They need other mice for social interaction, when kept alone they become lonely and unhappy. Humans just won't do for mice, we are suitable for providing food, water, clean bedding - and occasionally a new wheel :P

This was just the small cage I kept her in while cleaning her big cage. Her main cage was very large.

And, unfortunately her sister Cinnamon had died just about a week before shooting this to a URI. :(
