Warren & Sharon's Wedding 1999 Israel Part 2 of 2

In this video Warren & Sharon offer their vows to one another. They smash the traditional glass, kiss for the first time as wife and husband, and head off for a small gathering and dance.

A hermit in Ein Gedi diverted some of the river and planted a grassy knoll nearby to Nachal David. The photographer opened the trunk and Warren spun tunes from his minidisc as they enjoyed a massive deli spread brought down from Jerusalem. Whiskey shots shared, cake smashed in faces, even cans tied to the departing newlyweds van cap off the tradition.

In Israel to be married legally requires strict adherence to law and code. From the date, to location to officiant, to food, to fees, etc those who marry legally (essentially all citizens) become part of an expensive and restrictive nuptial industry.

Not many get the chance to carry out their wedding dreams freely without governmental oversight.

We happened to be so lucky as we married on our own terms and not within the legal standards set forth by the Israeli litigators.

As such, we had our dream wedding. And we dedicate the most special day of our lives to all the young (& old) Israelis who cannot marry in such a natural setting and by their own personal terms and scripting.

We dedicate our beautiful day to all Israelis who wish to live lives of unfettered freedom and peace where neither their own government nor evil forces beyond stand in the way of their dreams.
