Just a tip: If you get a mushroom in first place then use it to avoid a blue shell.... You got lucky they sucked so hard or you wouldn't have won.

You get a golden wheel after using the wii wheel non-stop for a certain amount of races. I doesn't automatically mean you're good since you can lose all those races just as long as you keep using the wii wheel. If you switch back to another controller, even if it's just for one race, you will lose the golden wheel again. They put this in the game to encourage people to use the wii wheel.
