so this vid pops up on my "recomended" videos to watch for the first time and it reminded me of bush's approval ratings before his re-election. they were pretty bad and he still got re-elected easily. i also recall the "swift boat" idiots and damage that they caused john kerry and that he didnt do anything to defend himself against that. my question is do approval ratings really matter? because they look like they dont.

@TheAmericanAnarchist quite right! the civil war wasn't about slavery or anything of the kind.. it was about the federal power subduing the states and yes neither side fought a just case but in theory the rebels had a better case.. what the us ended up with was the dominance of the fed gov denying the states rights while the whole concept was that the states would have their say indepedent in federal politics.. twisted! and i'm not an american, if anyone wants to call me names lol

Lincoln held the country together in a terrible time of division and issued the Emancipation Proclamation (I know, there's more to that story than we're generally taught). Truman ended WWII, albeit controversially, passed the Marshall Plan for Europe-that's right a PLAN for the occupied nations after there was an OFFICIAL SURRENDER and de-segregated the armed forces. Reagan....eh that comparison doesn't bother me such much; one over-rated idiot comparing himself to another over-rated idiot.

I, or maybe of me, threw Bush against a wall last night. I waSn't really aware of what was going on because I'm not attached to myself. I wandered away and hit a wall, it. I couldn't say fuck off, but I did.

Bush may have been a REPUBLICAN but in no way was he moderate or conservative. Take a look at his spending record and what he spent it on. Look at what he did with illegal immigration and guarding the border. Look at his stance on selling out American ports or Trying to unify America with Canada and Mexico. This guy was not a moderate or a right winger, he would have fit in with the Dems pretty well.
